Interview with Joanne from Team Holt

Q:  What's up with Team Holt?

A:  Whell.... we're moving on base when our lease is up.  I've wanted to do this ever since James came home and told me he wanted to join the Marine Corps.  And I've said it before, and I'll say it again:  I get what I want.  :)  I'm super excited about it and I think James is too.  We'll be so close to the necessities of base- like the commissary, the exchange, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS), and also work for James.  We've also got some really good friends there, so I'm looking forward to that. A LOT.

Q:  Why does it matter that you're close to the NMCRS?

A:  If you don't know already I had a child about a year ago.  Before he was born I took a Budget for Baby class put on by NMCRS and although I knew most of the information provided, I really liked it.  When Andrew was born, there was a little blip that scared me and we took advantage of the NMCRS's Visiting Nurse program because she was also a lactation consultant.  If I have a baby girl, I just might name her Cheryl.  So, I think it's time I give back to the organization that Coached this Team Holt to where it is today.

Q:  What's on Team Holt's schedule for the next couple months?

A:  James will be studying.  Andrew and I have a trip to NoVA planned for the first weekend in April.  I'm going to a bridal shower and spending some much needed time with some of my best friends.  Also, YARD SALE.  With us moving on base we're gonna be having a yard sale.  We've even recruited our neighbors, so we're planning on having a big one.  On a payday weekend.  Bring yo dollas.  :)  I'm a huge dork, so I cleaned out the garage in preparation.

Q:  Speaking of cleaning out the garage, what's up with the Porsche? I'm hearing some rumors.

A:  Yes, it has been discussed that James might be selling the Porsche.  It was his idea, so I don't know how firm he is in this decision.  But a couple people have expressed interest and even an idea of a trade, so we'll see... I'll keep you posted.

Q:  We all want to know:  What's new with Andrew?

A:  Ah, of course.  He really enjoys rides in his wagon- especially to the pond to feed the ducks.  I have this mental picture from America's Funniest Videos of a small toddling boy getting pecked by a goose, but we go anyway.  He really cracks up when he hears the softer quack-quack-quacks from the mallards.  -pause- He walks everywhere.  He officially has given up on crawling.  Sometimes he'll get super excited and want to go somewhere, but his little legs can't move fast enough. He has this little trot. It's sad and cute all at the same time.  He cries a little, but he's so excited and happy there are little laughs in there.  It's the equivalent of:  ohmygod, ohmygod, legsc'monmove!,ohcomeback, ohcomeback, yesss, wait, wait, wait!

Q:  It sounds like everything is really going well.

A:  It is.  It really is.  Andrew is a joy, and I can't imagine life without him.

Hey Joanne! It was nice to read the summation of questions you made up. It helped catch me up on Team Holt! Andrew is so cute; I bet he's going to grow up and really catch the eyes of a lot of girls!! I can't believe he's already 1. When are you coming back to NOVA? We need to go to lunch!
