Fort Macon Fun!

On Saturday we ventured to Atlantic Beach NC to visit Fort Macon! It was built back in the 1800s, and was a Confederate fort.  But... the Union soldiers forced the Colonel to surrender.  I don't know the Colonel's name, but he died at the ripe old age of 29!  Of epilepsy, not during battle...

It doesn't work, don't worry.  The stove is actually a replica since in World War II the original was destroyed for the space to be used as storage.  So nothing was ever cooked in there.
